This Learn to Solder Cactus, the Saguaro, is native to the deserts of North and South America and have adapted to the dry, hot climate by storing water in their stems. With an average life span of 150 to 175 years, this desert giant blooms beautiful blossoms once a year. What also will be budding is your excitement in learning to solder this 27 component succulent.
Utilizing the latest PC board routing technology, the student has plenty of practice parts as they learn to solder nineteen "Dog Bone" resistors that mimic the Saguaro's vertical spines, three bright green flashing/blinking LEDs that represent the blossoms, and two regular resistors which limit the current to the LEDs so they can flash. In addition, the student applies a special soldering technique of connecting the battery snap leads to a flat copper surface.
The Learn To Solder Saguaro Cactus kit is a fun way to practice and perfect your soldering skills. Perfect for a beginner or somebody who wants to make this LED flasher as a gift. Operates from one 9V battery (not included) which has plenty of energy to illuminate this spiky desert dweller for many days. Size of PC Board: 1-7/8" x 4".
