Detailed Description

Tiny audio optocoupler is about the size of a pencil eraser and has 4 leads. The audio opto coupler is used extensively in audio compressors, audio level controls, audio limiters, expanders / noise gates, guitars tremolo effects, guitar amplifiers and music effect boxes. Inside the black epoxy case is a 2 lead CDS cell with long leads and a 2 lead LED with short leads. The LED requires about 10 to 16mA current and the resistance of the CDS cell varies from 150K to megohms when the LED is off to a resistance of under 400 Ohms when the LED is on. Note: The DOT on the case marks the cathode (-) leads of the LED. New - Sold in a package of 8.
